Eggs In A Basket
This
is a specialty of Brian's grandma Aileen. It's not really a
recipe per say, but it's a fun way to combine boring old eggs and
toast! We have this for breakfast a lot, and Brian made this
heart-shaped one for Valentine's Day this year.
Warm, toasty love.
Needed:
Bread
Butter
Eggs
Place a dry nonstick
skillet over medium heat for a minute or two and let it warm up.
Butter the bread on both sides and use the rim of a drinking
glass to cut out a hole in the center of the slice (or use a cookie
cutter, or just cut out a shape with a butter knife). Place the
buttered bread and the cutout shape in the skillet and break the egg
into the hole. Once the egg turns golden brown, flip the toast
and the cutout over with a spatula. Finish cooking the egg to
your liking, remove from the pan, sprinkle with salt and pepper and
serve!
